The first question most business owners in Syria ask about social media management is: how much does it cost? Offers range from a freelancer's small monthly fee to a full agency retainer that covers strategy, content and ads together. There is no single honest number; the price depends on what is included. This article explains what you pay for when you look at social media management cost in Syria, so you can compare offers clearly.
Why do prices vary so much?
"Page management" means very different things. A freelancer who sends you ready designs and posts them is not the same as a team that plans content, writes copy, designs, films, runs ads and sends a report at the end of the month. Both may use the same label; the work and the results are not the same.
So do not compare the price alone. Compare what each offer actually does with your pages and accounts.
What is usually included in a monthly package?
Packages differ, but solid social media management often includes:
- A strategy and a monthly content plan tied to your goal: messages, orders or wholesale inquiries.
- Designs and posts on the platforms you agreed on.
- Stories, daily or weekly, as written in the offer.
- Short videos or Reels, if they are part of the package.
- Captions and copy in a language that fits your customers.
- Replies to comments and messages, or a share of them, if that is written down.
- Paid ads on Meta or other platforms, if ad management is included.
- A monthly report on what was published, what was spent on ads, and the results that matter to your sales.
If one of these items is missing from the written offer, ask about it before you sign. What is not written is hard to claim later.
What changes the price?
Number of platforms
Managing Facebook alone costs less than managing Facebook, Instagram and TikTok together. Each platform needs its own content, rhythm and follow-up.
Number of posts, stories and videos
The more you produce each month, the more time goes into writing, design and review. Ask for clear numbers: how many posts, how many stories, how many videos.
Filming, client photos and AI visuals
Shooting your products in the shop or a studio costs more than using your existing photos, and your photos differ from relying on AI-generated visuals. Each option has a place, but you should know which one is included in the price.
Languages
Arabic-only content differs from Arabic plus English, especially if part of your audience is the Syrian diaspora. Writing for two audiences takes more time and review.
Whether ads are managed
Planning, monitoring and improving campaigns is separate from regular posting. If it is included, it should appear clearly in the offer.
Who answers customer messages?
Agency replies take hours every week. If you answer yourself, the agency's load drops, and the reverse is true. Agree in writing on who replies and how quickly.
Reply speed and seasonal peaks
A business that needs same-day approvals differs from one that reviews content once a week. Seasons like Ramadan, Eid and the wedding season raise the load on content and ads, and may need extra work agreed in advance.
The ad budget is separate from the management fee
The agency's fee and the money paid to Meta are two different numbers. Paying Meta from inside Syria often goes through a card held abroad or through the agency, and that is common. What matters is that both amounts are written separately, and that you receive reports from the ad platform itself, not a table typed by hand.

Dollars or Syrian pounds, monthly or by contract?
Many agencies price in USD because tools and ads are paid in dollars. Ask which currency the price uses, how exchange-rate changes are handled, how long the contract runs, what notice period applies, and whether there is a setup fee in the first month for account setup, strategy or brand templates.
A clear contract protects both you and the agency when the rate or the scope of work changes.
Cheap vs expensive: what to watch for
- A very low price usually means templates reused across clients, with no strategy and no real reporting.
- A very high price with no written list of deliverables means you cannot hold anyone to anything.
- Packages that sell followers or likes do not build an audience that buys from you.
- Pages created in the agency's name, not yours, put you at risk of losing the account if you stop working together.
How to compare two offers
- Ask for a written list of monthly deliverables: posts, stories, video, replies, ads, report.
- Ask who actually does the work: writer, designer, ads manager, or one person for everything.
- Ask for a sample monthly report so you can see what you will read each month.
- Check that the ad budget and the management fee are written separately.
- Check that the pages, Business Manager and ad account are in your name.
- Compare cost against the results you care about (messages, orders, wholesale inquiries), not against the number of posts alone.
